Q. What type of college is PBC?

A. Pacific Bible College is an independent, private, two-year Bible college located in Medford, Oregon, United States. Students can pursue a two-year Associate of Biblical Studies, a two-year Associate of Applied Science in Counseling or a one-year Certificate in Christian Ministries. PBC also offers the Foundations Program which provides a Bible based, two-year general studies curriculum which is transferable to accepting four-year institutions.

Q. How did Pacific Bible College get started?

A. History

In 1989 local Christian radio station owner, Perry Atkinson met with a group of pastors to discuss the possibility of a Bible college in southern Oregon. In December of 1991 Dove Bible Institute was founded. The name was changed to Pacific Bible College in 2000. God gave PBC a new vision for the college in the academic year of 2008-2009. One primary motivator for the new vision of PBC is summarized in the following brief recording: one college student’s observation on why young people are leaving the church.

Present Day – Authorization

This school is a non-profit corporation and is authorized by the State of Oregon to offer and confer the academic degrees described herein, following a determination that state academic standards will be satisfied under OAR 583-030. Inquiries concerning the standards or school compliance may be directed to the Office of Degree Authorization, Higher Education Coordinating Commission, 775 Court St NE, Salem, Oregon 97301.

Who does PBC have articulation agreements with?

PBC currently has articulation agreements to facilitate credit transfer with the following institutions: Multnomah University, Corban University, New Hope Christian College (formerly Eugene Bible College), Oak Hills Bible College, and Simpson University.
